I told this girl I like her, she said "I don't know" and now things are different.?

Haha so I became friends with this girl thinking nothing. She always hangs out with my friends and I. And I guess I started to like her, but she was dating her boyfriend and had problems with him. Eventually they broke up and like 3 weeks later I told her I liked her and she said, "awww, i don't know right now." and said how her boyfriend really messed things up and started walking away. Ever since then, we still text and im each other, but we don't talk the same way as we use to in person. Did she say "I don't know" just as a nice answer for no? And she still hangs out with my friends and I so I can't really stop talking to her or anything. So haha what does this mean, and if you have any tips to help me out that'd be great. Haha thanks.
