Why not privatize the fire department?

because then the fire dept. will be profit driven forced to cut cost then the service of the department will suffer and in the long run less will be achieved...although the fire deptartment maybe inefficient there is no other way to have as lives would be put at risk in order for the firm to make money as that is its main goal...also the number of fire departments would also fall as this is a large cost
