How can blindness be caused as a result of an accident?

What a strange question. But to answer it you could get your eyes shot out with arrows or buck shot. You could be in a forceful collision that your eye would come out of the eye socket. You could get into a fight and have your eyes gouged out. You could suffer severe head trauma and the skull bones could sever your optic nerve. You could be mowing the lawn and the lawn mower could spit out a chopped up stick. There are many more but you get the idea and I am tired of typing.
