I punched a wall 3 yrs ago and my middle knuckle is still indented, help....?

I punched a wall 3yrs ago, (yes I know real smart right...) anyways it still hasn't healed right, its soft and squishy, rather then soild like the rest of the knuckles can it still be healed by a splint or does it need surgury, please respond..
